Open Mic Night

Monette Boersma
Monette Boersma studied the arts at Radboud University Nijmegen. In her case, that meant a lot of Dutch, Mass Communications and History. She’s also worked as a journalist, PR officer and web editor. Several years ago, she started a blog with stories and poems: blogmonettaboersma.maakerwatvan.nl. That blog is still online. Her writing developed from stories and poems to 55-word stories, haikus and light verse. She’s made it an art to say as much as possible and evoke as much feeling as possible with as few words as possible. You’ll notice this if you read her book “Gevarieerd natuurlijk”, published by Boekscout.

Iris Wissenburg
Iris Wissenburg from Arnhem has been writing songs since last summer, mainly in Dutch, because that language feels the most ‘real’ to her. She’ll play and sing about four songs for you, on her Spanish and/or semi-acoustic guitar. She writes about pony clubs, parasites, love and the end of days, among other things. What fun!

Jeroen and Irene
Jeroen and Irene have formed a musical duo together since 2025, but individually, the two of them have immensely enjoyed making music for many years now. Irene actually sang before she could talk and Jeroen has been playing pianos and keyboards since primary school. Their collaboration came about in the run-up to an audition for a concert in their hometown of Borne. They both enjoyed practising together for this so much that they decided to continue making music together. Their main goal is to have fun choosing and playing songs they love. Together, they perform well-known songs by Coldplay, Acda & De Munnik, Carole King, Charlie Puth, Krezip, Adele and Bruno Mars, to name but a few. Basically, theirs is a broad repertoire with something for everyone but above all, accessible and pleasant music for everyone!

Chameleon
Chameleon is a six-piece band that plays existing songs with rock, pop, blues and soul influences from the early sixties to the present. As a result, Chameleon has a very varied repertoire. From Bob Dylan via Steve Harley to Anouk, from Rolling Stones via Spencer Davis to Venice, from Earth and Fire via Lynyrd Skynyrd to The Eagles. Somehow, the band members manage to bring all their musical preferences together and have a lot of fun rehearsing and performing. Hence the reference to the multicoloured chameleon: the band has its own character and feels at home on all kinds of different occasions.

Chameleon is: Karin Roekens (vocals) / Margré Mollink (bass guitar) / Jan Storteboom (lead guitar) / Paul Barends (rhythm guitar) / Hidzer Gorter (drums) / Jack Kaat (keyboards)
